This policy, developed with patients and other members of the public, provides an overview of how NHS supports patients and public voice partners (including other service users, carers and families) to be involved in their work by providing compensation for involvement. The policy was developed to support the overarching aim of working to embed patient and public voices in all activities, and aims to ensure participants are not out of pocket when they are supporting and advancing the work of NHS. This guide can be applied to other organization’s building their own compensation frameworks.
