EXTRA Cohort 18 Applications Delayed Until Fall 2022

By Maryanne D’Arpino

Partnering meaningfully is one of our values and it’s why we’ve decided to delay applications for the EXTRA: Executive Training program. Cohort 18 applications will open in fall 2022, instead of spring 2022.

We reached this decision after careful consultation and conversations about meeting you where you are. After two years of coping with the pandemic as healthcare leaders, we understand you need time to recover before focusing on capability building.

Why we made this decision

Joining EXTRA is an investment in yourself, your team and organization. We hope this delay will allow you to prepare for this investment and its benefits: sharing pan-Canadian perspectives, participating in events (virtual, in-person), collaborating across teams and receiving coaching and peer support.

We’ll be sharing more information about the call for applications and other related opportunities through our newsletter and on the EXTRA webpage.

Ways to stay connected

In the meantime, here are some ways to stay connected with the EXTRA program and other learning and development opportunities at HEC.

We’re excited to hear about your proposed projects and hope that the coming months brings you time to rest, heal and recover. We hope delaying applications is one way we can support you as we move through the next stages of the pandemic.

About EXTRA: Executive Training program

Healthcare Excellence Canada’s EXTRA program trains agile leaders to respond to complex healthcare and social services problems (like the pandemic). Launched in 2004, the training program is a team-based leadership development, quality and patient safety improvement fellowship – the only one of its kind in Canada.
