Through the Health Workforce Innovation Challenge, participating teams have several opportunities to win monetary prizes – via random draws or submissions that are reviewed and rated by a panel of judges.

February 2024

Mini-Challenge #2: Senior Leadership Engagement Awards

Up to 17 awards of $5,000 are available to be won by participating teams that submit an action plan for engaging their senior leadership in their innovation, by February 8, 2024.

Innovation Kickstart Awards #3

Up to 20 awards of $2,000 are available to be won by teams eligible to participate in and register for the Innovation Challenge by January 31, 2024, and weren’t drawn for the first and second Kickstart Awards. The draw will take place by February 15, 2024.

March 2024

Impact Awards #2: Outcomes Measurement Progress Award

Up to 16 awards of $5,000 are available to participating teams that submit a report demonstrating clear and measurable progress against the indicator(s) associated with their innovation and total healthcare worker reach. Submissions are due on March 7, 2024, and will be rated by our judging panel.

Dinosaur Pitch Award

Teams with the ten highest Dinosaur Mini-Challenge scores will present to a live audience of peers (in person or virtually) to share their Dinosaur Plan and outcomes to date. Prizes of up to $5,000 will be awarded to the teams with the top scores.

May 2024

Innovation Kickstart Awards #4

Up to 20 awards of $2,000 are available to be won by teams eligible to participate in and register for the Innovation Challenge by April 30, 2024, and weren’t drawn for the first, second or third Kickstart Awards. The draw will take place by May 15, 2024.

Mini-Challenge #3: Sustainable Solutions Awards

Up to 10 awards of $5,000 are available to participating teams that submit an action plan to sustain their innovation over the long term. Submissions will be reviewed by our judging panel. Note: Teams registered between February 9 and April 30, 2024 (inclusive) may choose to submit the Action Plan for Senior Leadership Engagement from the second round Mini-Challenge or the Action Plan for Sustainable Solutions from this third round Mini-Challenge.

July 2024

Shared Reach Challenge Awards

Up to eight awards of $10,000 each are available to teams moving the dial on a collective impact indicator related to healthcare worker reach. Prizes will be awarded through a draw that will take place by June 12, 2024. For each month of eligible healthcare worker reach data submitted by a team, they will receive one ballot entered in the draw.

August 2024

Overall Retention Achievement Awards

For both Innovation Challenge streams, prizes of up to $50,000 will be awarded to teams that submit the top three reports demonstrating clear and measurable improvements associated with their innovation. Submissions are due on July 31, 2024, and will be rated by our judging panel.
