Patients for Patient Safety Canada is seeking art submissions for an online exhibition honouring World Patient Safety Day, September 17, 2021, on this year’s theme of “Safe maternal and newborn care”.
On World Patient Safety Day we will launch an additional virtual art exhibition, HeART of Healthcare: Safe and Respectful Maternal and Newborn Care, which will include works in various media including: paintings, fibre art, poetry, stories, sculpture, dance, and music.
The aim of World Patient Safety Day 2021 is to raise global awareness on the issues of maternal and newborn safety, particularly during childbirth. Childbirth should be safe and respectful for all people in Canada. People should have their choice of birthing options and the medical support necessary to ensure they and their babies are safe before, during, and after birth. All people in Canada should feel supported, respected and safe, and everyone should have the same access to safe and quality care, including those living in rural, remote and isolated communities.
